Is it a watch or is it a car? Actually it is a supercar of watchmaking! With this idea in mind, seven-time world rally champion Sébastien Loeb met design champion Sébastien Perret and the Marvin team one sunny morning and began what will be forever recalled as a fantastic project.
From day one Séb, aka the rally legend, had very clear ideas about how his dream watch should look and feel like. But how to integrate the most important rally features into a timepiece without touching on its elegance and functionality? Well, this is the moment when the other Sébastien, Perret by his last name, and the one and only Jean-François Ruchonnet enter the story and, with their unmistakable creative touch, remarkably turn the original ideas into reality. The result of this collaboration is a timepiece that perfectly incorporates the distinctive codes of rallying and technical perfection, a characteristic of all Marvin watches.
During the exceptional event organized at C42 in Paris to celebrate the reveal of Marvin’s Loeb Special Edition we got our hands on watchmaker Sébastien Perret (believe us, that was almost mission impossible!) and we have video interviewed him about the creative process of the Loeb watch. Everything you would ever want to know about the design of this iconic sports watch is right here:
Sébastien Perret is “guilty” of the success of all recent Marvin collections. Blame him not only for the Loeb Special Edition, but also for the Malton 160, M112, M102 and M014, to name just a few of Marvin’s star timepieces. In charge of his self-owned company Etude de Style, he has an impressive portofolio on his record and collaborates with several exclusive brands such as Cabestan, Perrelet and Nina Ricci.
