Marvin’s LOEB Special Edition was officially revealed yesterday in Paris and we are delighted to bring you a detailed presentation of our newcomer.

Marvin has developed two exclusive chronographs in partnership with Sébastien Loeb, seven-time world rally champion and Marvin Ambassador. They both proudly carry the rally champion`s signature and evoke the world of rallying in the smallest details. The mechanical, automatic-rewinding chronograph, Valjoux 7750, is available in a Limited Edition of 777 pieces. The automatic version has Séb`s signature engraved on the sapphire crystal of the transparent caseback which reveals the mechanical movement and its rotor in the Marvin colours. The quartz chronograph, accurate to 1/10th of a second, carries the signature on the dial at 4 as well as engraved on the caseback, with the inscription “World Rally Champion”. Both versions were designed by the creative watchmakers Jean-François Ruchonnet – best known for the TAG Heuer Monaco V4 and the Cabestan – and Sébastien Perret, the Neuchâtel designer who has been associated with all recent Marvin collections.

The 44 mm diameter steel case with its shaped sides gives LOEB Special Edition a strongly technical and very dynamic appearance. The “supercar of watchmaking” features an exclusive innovation: the flexible horns mounted on spring suspensions coloured red are a reference to the critical importance of suspension systems in rally cars and allow the watch to adjust perfectly to the wrist. Several other elements are directly inspired by the world of rallying. The chronograph buttons are coated in black PVD and resemble gear change paddles. Whereas the shaped counters are designed like dashboard instruments, the dial is composed of riveted plates on different levels and the openwork hands suggest a rally car’s reinforcing bars.
